NEO METAL SONIC ♛ FULL NAME: Neo Metal Sonic ♛ AGE: Unknown (Sonic canon exists within a time bubble; he's existed since Sonic CD, but there's no indication how long ago this actually was. Metal Sonic is presumably <10 and maybe even <5 years old.) ♛ SPECIES: Robot ♛ HEIGHT: 4'4" not counting spikes, 5'4" with them (base Metal Sonic is 3'4") ♛ APPEARANCE DESCRIPTION: A full body reference of Neo Metal Sonic can be found here, with a full body reference for Metal Sonic here. At his current canon point, he almost exclusively takes his Neo form, only rarely opting to revert back to his original Metal Sonic form. Made of sleek metal, large spikes, and built for combat rather than speed, Neo Metal Sonic is the peak of Eggman's technology. Designed to keep up with and defeat Sonic with his bio-data, Neo Metal Sonic is an iteration on the original design created by Neo himself; essentially a sign of breaking free of Eggman's hold on him and becoming his own person. Robot. He's very edgy, in case it wasn't obvious. ♛ CHANGES IN GAME: N/A ♛ DEMEANOR: Exactly what you'd expect of a killer robot - cold, unfeeling, and detached. Neo Metal Sonic values data and knowledge over feelings and instinct, preferring to think everything through logically before taking any action... except he is horribly rash when it comes to Sonic, his one weak spot. Harboring an intense grudge toward the hedgehog and even going so far as to claim himself as the "real" Sonic, Neo is full of contradictions that don't make themselves immediately clear until one speaks with him at length; he believes himself above all living beings, yet incapable of truly understanding them or what makes Sonic so much stronger than him. The blue blur is absolutely a berserk button for him, but the chip on his shoulder about the hedgehog is not helping. ♛ VOICE: Contrary to Sonic, base form Metal Sonic is incapable of speech entirely, instead communicating primarily through beeps. Neo Metal Sonic has a voice, however, and it is ridiculously deep. Carrying a robotic tone and rarely expressing anything approaching emotion, Neo Metal Sonic either speaks way too much or not nearly enough. He is both a yapper and totally silent. Yet another contradiction that makes him who he is. Astute characters may be able to tell that his voice is actually Sonic's, just run through a million and one voice filters to make something "unique" to Neo Metal Sonic. I don't mind characters recognizing the Sonic games and media, but I would prefer to avoid directly drawing from Sonic Heroes! References to anything else are fine, as Neo doesn't really show up anywhere else, but I prefer avoiding "here's what's happening to you in the future/I already know all of your issues" sorts of things! ♛ OOC OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Please warn for suicide/suicidal ideation. ♛ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Neo Metal Sonic has no frame of reference for physical affection. He has never experienced anything of the sort. As such he'll mostly just be baffled?? He is made of metal and spikes, why would you want to touch him. He is a killer robot, Do Not. ♛ RELATIONSHIPS: Stares into the sun. I mean I guess you can try to romance the robot if you're a robofucker, but like. Do you really want to. Neo Metal Sonic is going to require a lot of work to even acknowledge he has emotions, let alone learn how to care about anyone. So pursue at your own risk, ig. M/any is fine, but good luck. ♛ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: He's literally a killer robot, he's damn good at fighting. Though he won't initiate fights with anyone who isn't Sonic, he will defend himself and spar if you ask, but like. He does not know how to hold back. You've been warned. Let's discuss this! ♛ MINDREADING: Let's discuss this! Technically Neo can't fight against this, but also: he's a robot. It's bound to be a little weird just because of his entirely different nonhuman mentality. ♛ MAGICAL INFORMATION: While not exactly magical, Neo Metal Sonic has access to Chaos Energy which he can use to warp his body and temporarily stop time, among some other various powers he copied from Sonic and his friends. You can probably pick up that he's very powerful, though let's discuss the specifics! ♛ MEDICAL INFORMATION: ...I mean. He's a robot. If you want the technical information, you'll have to get a good look at him, and he will not let most people do that. ♛ IC OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Mention Sonic around him at your own risk. WARNINGS ♛ KILLER ROBOT THINGS: Obviously Neo Metal Sonic is coming from a kids' game series, so this is nowhere near as dark as it could be, but Metal Sonic was created to kill Sonic, and he plays this completely straight and is generally treated as a threat rather than comic relief, like Eggman often is. Neo takes this a step further and tries very hard to kill Sonic and his friends, some of whom are literal children. ♛ MISTREATMENT: Eggman has a tendency to treat his robots like tools, despite the more advanced ones like Metal Sonic being very capable of independent thought and even feelings (no matter how much he denies this). Eggman specifically didn't give Metal Sonic a voice despite some of his other robots having voices, so there's a lot here that is in a gray area - personally, I don't subscribe to the belief that Eggman sees Metal Sonic as some kind of son but rather as a tool, at least at this canon point. I will be playing with this in dragging character development out of Neo Metal Sonic, though I would never call Eggman's treatment of Metal "abuse", it's more generally treating him as a weapon/tool rather than a person.
